skidding in sideways

got a forward from a colleague this morning and had to pass it on.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, replacement parts hanging by a mere thread, and screaming: "WOO HOO!! What a ride!!!"

happy friday, all.

lol. it's funny to me that you received that quote, paul, because it was attached to an "international very good looking damn smart woman's day" forward. need i say more ....

1) i am not taking up smoking. the desire only hits when i get in my ani/avril mode and/or imagine myself as an old woman with a deep throaty raspy voice scaring her grandchildren and thus providing them with countless tales for their friends back at school.

2) hmm, i think the real debate here is about whether or not i'd be drinking martinis on the way to the grave. since a bad experience with them in nyc two years ago, i've opted for other, more pleasing drinks to accompany me on the journey.

in essence, there's always lots of shifting going on in my thinking. who knows what it'll look like tomorrow?

International Very Good Looking Damn Smart Woman's Day
kat sent this to me earlier. thought i'd share it with everyone else...

This will make you SMILE

Today is International Very Good Looking Damn Smart Woman's Day.
Good motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and wellpreserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand - martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, 'WOO HOO - What a Ride!'"
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away.
AMEN

i don't have a blog account and actually this is the first time i have ever submitted any type of comment online. i have nothing witty or intelligent to say (and have avoided writing b/c i don't think my carefully edited statements deserve to be posted), i just wanted to congratulate us all on successfully avoiding work to banter back and forth, surf the Web and other such things.

i also just wanted to say that i miss you mary and i was checking out your blog to catch up.

praise the Lord it is Friday. Talk to you soon! Shelly
